What’s an imoomie?

Once upon a time a creative, sweet, struggling speller, daughter, who loved her Mommy very much wrote a precious note.  Now, when I say precious, I am referring to a Mother’s definition of “precious”, not the southern form translated as, Isn’t she just “precious”…bless her little heart!  I’m here to tell you this child really was precious!

Dear Moomie, it read… I love you and I hope you have the best day ever!  It was signed with beautifully formed letters that reflected the artistic flare of this dear one and was finished with hand drawn flowers that mirrored her unique style.  Most of all it spoke volumes about how she felt about her Mom.

As time passed, she continued to accidently write Moomie instead of Mommy and when she was old enough to realize her error could not control the laughter that started in her belly and moved right up her face producing a twinkle in her eyes.  From that day forward she called her Mommy, you guessed it Moomie.  You know how children sometimes call their Mother by their first name in a crowd just to secure a response instead of calling Mommy, Mommy, Mommy which in contrast wields a deaf ear?  This new name worked in the same way.

Over time, the name was adapted to modern day times and like the popular show icarly…moomie became imoomie.com .

As for the little girl…she is a teenager now and even though she still calls her Mom, Moomie and is incredibly precious, she rarely struggles with spelling.  Her Moomie often thinks to herself …Where did the time go?  and… Now, weren’t those the best of times?

Mostly though Moomie wonders why the “no grow” spray she sprayed on her darling daughter when she was young…didn’t work.
